Single Malt Vodka

Single Malt Vodka Label

The artwork on our label is from the original pastel piece by Canadian artist Alan Stein. Click to see the entire picture.

Our rare Single Malt Vodka is handcrafted in small batches using artisan distilling methods. We start with only the finest 100% premium Canadian two-row malted barley, pure water and yeast. In fact, those are the only ingredients in our vodka. We don't ever use any other type of grain, additives or preservatives. The vodka is triple-distilled in a small pot still, similar to the way Single Malt Scotch and fine French Cognac is made. We control the process by hand with constant personal sensory monitoring (yes, that means taste along with smell, look and even touch) in order to achieve a smooth, clean spirit with subtle and unique flavours. It takes time and patience to make vodka this way rather than using large automated industrial plants. Before bottling, we chill-filter in order to ensure our Single Malt Vodka is crystal clear.

We are proud of our distilling techniques and believe that you deserve to see how products you consume are made. You can see step-by-step our process for producing fine spirits here.

What do you mean by Single Malt?

Vodka is more often than not (about 99% of the time) made from grain. While some producers use a single grain like corn or wheat, it is often a combination of grains like corn, wheat and barley. We have chosen to use 100% malted barley as our grain. Since it is 100% malted barley, we have called it "Single Malt", following the same logic that whisky producers use in calling their products Single Malt when they use 100% malted barley as their only ingredient.
